Author Hunter S. Thompson Kills Himself
Thompson was an insane dickhead, but goddamn I loved his writing. Although I disagree with every single moral principle he put down in in books like “Fear in Loathing in Las Vegas” and “Generation of Swine”, he did it all with a style and humor that kept me in bloody stitches.
He was a huge influence on me when I was younger, wanting to be a writer, trying to find my own growling inner voice to tell the stories in my head.
Rest in peace, Hunter.

February 22, 2005 at 8:24 a.m.:I actually found out about his death at your site first..guess I haven't been following the news too much lately..but saw it on my American channel this morning....I'd always heard of him..and knew about him and that whole cartoon thing..Doonesbury but I've never read his books and I didn't even watch that movie Fear & Loathing but I know how you feel when someone that has influenced you dies...
