R.F.C.

So, I’m sitting here, typing away on my newly-reactivated PC, and I just noticed, after 4 hours of working, that either the blue gun is getting all hyperactive, or the red and green ones are sleeping on the job. Every couple of seconds, the color on the monitor washes all blue, then goes back to normal.

So, as a request for comments: I’m now on the lookout for a new monitor. The one I’ve got is an aging 19” CTX VL90. I’d like to get a 19” flat panel, wide-format if possible. Any suggestions?

The hook, of course, is that I’ve got exactly €3.50 in the bank.

You have to follow these directions to a tee

Boot into Windows. Take out your doo-whacky and slap the monitor a few times. You have to slap it right on the glass, not on any of the plastic as this will have no effect. Keep in mind this will not help your dying monitor. However, it will make your Windows experience much more enjoyable.

I'll be damned: it worked! I do feel better. Monitor's fucked, though.

I'd feel even better if I used a shoe, I do believe. I'll let you know how it works out.

Just throw the fucker out the window...it WILL make you feel better. I've done it before.

Well, I do kinda need the monitor to work, even if it is fucking with me. I guess I could just hit Print-Screen every couple of minutes; at least the printer's working.

Try wiggling the VGA cable near the connecter and see if you loose any of the reg/green/blue guns. Might just be a loose connection. If so you could spend a couple of quid on some electronic contact spray cleaner from the local electronic store and spray out the connectors.
